The owners of MnemoPal ("we", "us" or "our") operate the mobile application MnemoPal (the "Service"). This page contains information about the collection, use and disclosure of personal information when you use our Service.

We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. We use your personal information solely for providing and improving the Service.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information Collection and Use

Account Information

To use MnemoPal, you must create an account through Firebase Authentication. During registration, you are required to provide an email address. This information is used to:

• Create and maintain your account
• Sync your learning data across devices
• Provide account recovery services
• Send important service-related communications

Learning Data

We collect and store the learning content you create, including:

• Memory palaces and loci you create
• Flashcard decks and individual cards
• Your study progress and review history
• Performance statistics and learning analytics
• Images you upload to enhance your learning materials

This data is stored in Firebase to provide you with the core functionality of the app and to sync your progress across devices.

We do NOT collect:

• Analytics or tracking data about your app usage
• Device information beyond what's necessary for app functionality
• Location data
• Contact lists or other personal information from your device

Data Storage and Security

Firebase Security

Your data is stored using Google Firebase services. Firebase provides security measures including encrypted data transmission between your device and their servers, and secure data centers.

Data Access

Your Passwords

We never have access to your passwords. Firebase Authentication handles all password management securely.

Your Learning Data

As the app administrators, we can technically access your learning content (memory palaces, flashcards, images) stored in our Firebase database for support purposes, though we do not routinely monitor or access user data.

Data at Rest

While Firebase provides infrastructure security, your learning content is stored in a readable format in our database (not encrypted at the application level).

We will only retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide you with the Service. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time through the app's settings.

Account Deletion

You have full control over your data. When you request account deletion through the app:

• Your request is processed with a 3-day grace period
• You can cancel the deletion during this period
• After the grace period, all your data is permanently removed from our servers
• This includes your account, learning content, progress data, and any uploaded images

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate MnemoPal:

• Firebase (Google): For authentication, data storage, and cloud functions
• Firebase Storage: For storing images you upload to your memory palaces and flashcards

These services have access to your data only to provide the core functionality of our app. They are bound by their own privacy policies and security standards.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties. Your learning data remains private and is never shared with other users or external parties, except that app administrators may access your data for technical support purposes when necessary.

Children's Privacy

MnemoPal is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete such information.

International Users

MnemoPal is available globally. Your data may be stored and processed in any country where Firebase operates, but it is always subject to the same privacy protections outlined in this policy.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Export your learning content (feature coming soon)
• Withdraw consent for data processing by deleting your account

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the app and updating the "Effective Date" above. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
